Product prototyping
"From Idea to Reality"
The importance of prototyping
Prototyping enables designers, engineers, clients and end users to test, validate and improve concepts before they go into series or mass production.
Based on the results, the design, the product design or, for example, the choice of materials can be adjusted.
Validation and improvement
The prototypes are often also used to devise and optimize the mounting and assembly process. These insights can also lead to adjustments in the design. Sometimes it is necessary to make a larger number of prototypes to test the products more intensively or more widely before deciding on series or mass production.
This provides valuable insights and feedback from potential customers, which will lead to further improvements and optimizations.
Testing in the market
For some products it is even possible to develop 0-Series prototypes, with which the product can be tested in the market before mass production begins. This provides valuable insights and feedback from potential customers, which can lead to further improvements and optimizations.
Prototyping is not just a step in the development process, but an essential tool for creating innovative and successful products that meet the needs and expectations of the market.
After completing the prototyping phase, materials and production techniques are optimized in the Design for Manufacturing phase (DFM). Or read more about the previous step in the process, Product Design.
